Then take out a few items you love and were itching to wear on your holiday. That might immediately let you decide on the colour palette for your capsule.

It is much easier to build a capsule with neutral colours. That is because all items should be mixable and go well with one another. However, you can add your favourite accent colours. The easiest way is with accessories or a couple of standout pieces.

This is the trickiest part. Shoes normally take up loads of space in our suitcases, so when planning your capsule, we must consider just the most versatile shoes.

I would always include a pair of stylish trainers. They are great for journeys, trekking, workouts, long walks, or sightseeing. However, you can replace them with another pair of comfortable walking shoes like loafers. 

Then I would add a pair of simple flat sandals or wedges and a dressier pair for the evenings.

Accessories

Accessories should be kept to a bare minimum, even though they do not take up much space. A couple of statement jewellery pieces and a few versatile items will help personalise your outfits during your vacation.

So now let’s get to the clothing we want to pack for our trip. How many items? It depends on the duration of your holiday and the activities planned.

For example, if you are going on a one-week vacation and intend to spend every day sightseeing, exercise four times, and dine out six evenings.
